Giới Thiệu · ubGuard for Oracle

ubGuard provides Oracle database protection and availability by mirroring primary databases to standby databases. It's a quick solution against Oracle database failures, disasters. Features:

Supports Oracle Enterprise Edition, Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, Personal Edition, Express Edition.

Supports RAC and single instance databases.

Supports ASM and regular file systems.

Supports multiple standby databases.

Supports cascaded standby databases.

Platform independent. It works in Java environment.

Easy to setup in minutes.

No setup needed in primary servers.

No need to use an external SSH client utility to transfer archivelogs.

Transfers archivelogs in compressed format by SSH API.

Supports fixed and random local outgoing SSH port.

Transfers archivelogs in encrypted format by SSH API.

Encrypts passwords in repository.

Updates only its repository.

Emails and logs errors.

Deletes applied archivelogs from standby servers with a time delay option.

Runs as a Windows service in Windows platforms.

New features:

bin/ubguard.sh (bin/ubguard.bat for Windows) has been added to manage ubGuard.

bin/environment.sh (bin/environment.bat for Windows) has been added to set environment variables.

Windows service has been added.

New parameters: ssh.port.client: Defines local(outgoing) SSH port. Value 0 means random port. database.instance.alias: Defines ubGuard instance as an alias. database.instance.parent.alias: Defines ubGuard parent instance aliases.

Renamed parameters: ssh.port to ssh.port.server.

Removed parameters: database.instance.parent.host database.instance.parent.instance

New features:

database.standby.archivelog.retention.time definition has changed. Archivelogs on standby are deleted if they are older than standby database time by this parameter.
Improvements:

Database instance alias name is not required to be case sensitive.

Numbers of SQLs running on Primary have been reduced.

Archivelogs are deleted by RMAN.

Unnecessary privileges have been revoked from UBGUARD_ROLE role.

Bugs:

While running OS commands, Runtime Exceptions could not be caught.

If parameter database.instance.alias is not upper case, Oracle directories UBGUARD_ASM_* and UBGUARD_TMP_* are recreated unnecessarily.

Wrong file separator used for ASM on Windows.

bin/ directory is included in ubGuard.jar unnecessarily.

bin/ubguard.sh and bin/environment.sh are in DOS format.
