• Reformat text using "Remove Spaces" stream filter power tool to convert any sequence of multiple spaces to a single space. This is a very cool tool for grabbing text from a web page and converting any selected part of it to full paragraph and left flush text! Select all from the web page, choose copy, open a ProTERM document, and paste. Choose Remove Spaces from the Edit menu and its done! Better yet, a multiple sequence of spaces to a single space, and all spaces from the beginning of a line.in the Edit:Convert menu. Better yet, select the text and press and hold the command key while pressing the keypad zero key (the keypad to the right of the keyboard). Do it a number of times until the desired formatting is achieved. The resulting text will also be converted to curly, or typographer quotes.
• Run aliases from the ProTERM Scripts, Connect and Help menus.
• Create custom key equivalents. ProTERM 1.5 offers about 100, special keys with instructions on how to change existing or create hundreds more. See "Resident User Custom Keys" in the ProTERM Help menu.
• Robots love ProTERM!: A new option in the Send ASCII dialog window; "Append Linefeed to Return" does exactly as its name implies, it adds a linefeed after each return during an ASCII send. This feature was added for customers who use ProTERM Mac to control big toys: machine shop $100K+ milling machines, the Federal Government's robot microscopes, and other controller applications which may benefit from this addition.
• Encode and decode "secret" messages easily "Translate ROT-13".
• New PT Network allows the telnet host mode to work with ProTERM, Win95 and UNIX Telnet clients. Users can now write scripts which to accept incoming telnet connections.
• Higher performance Telnet driver makes significant changes in high-speed connections: ADSL, cable-modem, ISDN, or LAN.
• Connect files and Online Options windows for telnet services now show the IP address of the remote computer for either incoming or outgoing connections.
• Updated Modem selection list, and updated core modem driver includes special connect/carrier messages for 44000-57333 bps (56K modems).
• Command-click a file in the Scripts, Connect and Help menus opens that file for viewing and or editing.
• Group similar files in custom sub-directories in the Scripts, Help and Connect (services) menus, and they show up as a submenu.
