SpeedScaler is an application developed specifically for the R/C Boat and R/C Submarine Modeler for calculating scale speed.Scale Speed is one of the most controversial opinions at any shop talk session. Many modelers think immediately on "slow" when the discussion gets to the point of appropiate scale speed. Others are in the extreme opposite and sail their submarines or boats much to fast.
Froude developed delicate dynamometers and associated recording devices that allowed him to accurately measure the resistance various hull shapes encountered at specified speeds. Most of this information derived from a series of Dart River model tests in a scientifically designed towing tank, built and dedicated to testing ship models.
SpeedScaler will calculate the correct scale speed after Froude's Scale Speed Formula for both, Submerged and Surface Speed.
