Designed for experienced network administrators, TCP Over HTTP Tunnel allows users to push TCP traffic over HTTP, thus bypassing proxy and firewall restrictions. In other words, it can create a HTTP tunnel to take over the TCP traffic. The package consists of two interconnected components, namely a client and a server. To be able to use it, you have to deploy the server side in your virtual private server. You do so by first creating the server installation and configuration Python script. You have to fill in the desired port (allowed by the mobile operator) and optionally fill in a custom password. The VBS script can be created From the "Configuration" menu, saved to your computer, and then passed to your VPS using a SSH client, such as Bitwise. Next, you will have to go through the server configuration process.
Once the server is running on your VPS, you can use TCP Over HTTP Tunnel to redirect your traffic. The main window bundles a few fields you have to fill in. The application enables you to specify the connection HTTP method to use (GET or POST), and the header URL, which must match the URLs inserted in Android VPN applications. You also have to enter the server's address and port number, as well as the target address. TCP Over HTTP Tunnel can be used for port forwarding to SSH and VPN, or connecting to the server's own SSH. In the latter case, the target address must be localhost (127.0.0.1).
A HTTP tunnel that uses POST or GET methods can come in handy when a program is blocked by the firewall rules of a network. With such a redirection tweak, the traffic messages are repacked as HTTP requests and sent through the tunnel to the remote HTTP server, which repacks them as HTTP responses and forwards them to the client.
