The ACN/PCN system of rating airport pavements strength is designated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as the only approved method for reporting the strength of a pavement, and published it in the Annex 14 and Doc 9157 Part 3. FAA published the AC150/5335 to determine an ACN/PCN system in compliance with ICAO standards, and moving toward use of this system in lieu of using allowable loads by gear type.
